Cheap, green, all-purpose cleaner using everyday items in your kitchen

NX_spray bottle_line drwgSince writing my last post on cleaning around the home I have come to a conclusion. Living a greener, more sustainable life, is about using less products and ingredients in everyday cleaning.

Using less products and ingredients has the added benefit that it is a much cheaper way of cleaning. Making your own cleaning products uses a lot less packaging and saves some of the earth’s resources. Therefore, here is my recommended all-purpose, make it yourself cleaning spray.

This totally works and is great in a household with young children as there are no harmful ingredients, hurray! 🙂

Step 1: Repurpose an empty plastic spray bottleNX_spray bottle_line drwg

Step 2: Add three parts water

Step 3: Add 1 part vinegar (white is best if there is a choice but malt works ok)

Vinegar

Step 4: Add 2 tsp lemon juice (worthwhile having real lemons in the house as they are GREAT at shining up taps by themselves!)

Lemon

Give the bottle a shake to mix ingredients. Remember to label your bottle so that you remember what is in it.

Spray away and you’ll be a happy customer!

Did you know?

  • White Vinegar: cuts grease, deodorizes, and disinfects
  • Lemon juice: disinfects, and whitens
