Before we got Genie, we had no idea about dogs and what you were meant to feed or not feed them. In the short time we’ve had our puppy, we’ve learned a lot.
For starters, you don’t need to buy plastic wrapped dog treats with questionable ingredients. See here for a list of food poisonous to dogs before you start trying everything in your cupboards!
Here’s some simple food treats we’ve tried.
Here’s a simple recipe we tried for making your own plastic free dog treats.

This depends on if you have a kitchen mixer! If you do, all you need is that, a roller, cutters and trays. If you don’t, you’ll need:

Mash bananas.
Mix eggs, bananas, peanut butter and honey.
Add oats and flour.

Mix, squash and roll out to about 1cm thickness.
Cut to your desired shape of biscuits.
Cook at 180 degrees C for 20 minutes.

Wait until they’ve cooled and watch the dogs lining up in the streets to try your new treats!

These treats can be frozen for a few weeks, just make sure you defrost before giving them to your pooch!
NB We broke up the treats to feed to Genie in very small amount: one biscuit could make 8 ‘treats’.
